Living on the edge of the South Downs I am constantly inspired by the ever changing seasons and the natural beauty that surrounds me. Whether I am painting landscapes or life it's the essence of the subject I'm trying to capture. My work documents my environment I want my paintings to have a charge about them an energy, atmosphere and definitely light. Often very spontaneous, I'm passionate about painting, drawn to the structures of plants, seed heads and at the moment trees and the way the light filters through them. Sketching and painting has become a great source of pleasure to me, the process I find very liberating and my best works are created without restriction or hesitation, bright and bold.
